Goldfields Foundation Executive Secretary, Abdel-Razak Yakubu has stated that the TNA Stadium is 90% complete and delay in commissioning the brilliant edifice is down to safety reasons.

He said this during a media tour of the plush facility after Goldfields Foundation signed a $100,000 advertising deal with Medeama Sporting Club.

The financial package is to aid the Tarkwa based side’s campaign in the CAF Champions League group stage.

Medeama are the reigning BetPawa Premier League champions and have defied the odds to reach the lucrative group stage in Africa’s premier club football competition.

The Yellow and Mauves are bracing themselves to host Al- Ahly (Egypt), Young Africans (Tanzania) and CR Belouizdad (Algeria) in Group D at the TNA Stadium that was set to be commissioned a while back but the grand opening had to be delayed for safety reasons.

“It stands at 90% complete. A lot of the items needed to finish it are in-country, we had to take our time on a few things for purely safety reasons and nothing else.”

“We had to appoint somebody who would sit here and ensure that things are done the way that would protect all of us and also done to the best of quality.”
