2026 WC Qualifiers – “We have to start right against Madagascar & Comoros”- Chris Hughton

Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has hammered on the need for Ghana to begin the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a win on Friday.

According to the gaffer, the two opening games against Madagascar & Comoros of the qualifying series are the most important two games for the players and technical staff before any other assignment.

Ghana face Madagascar in their first game of the qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, November 17, hoping to clinch all three points before playing Comoros four day later at the Stade Moroni on November 21.

Hughton has been addressing the press ahead of the clash.

“I am very aware of how important these two games are. I know we have the AFCON tournament in January but at this moment all our concentration is on these two very important fixtures,” he told the media.

“I know what they really mean to the members of the squad and for those that we work for.”
