Women’s Football: Qualifying to 2024 AFCON means everything to us- Linda Eshun

Veteran Black Queens defender Linda Eshun says qualifying to the 2024 Women’s AFCON means everything to the present iteration of Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team.

She said this ahead of the Black Queens qualifier against Namibia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, December 2.

Under Swedish coach Nora Hauptle, the Queens are yet to lose a game and are heavily tipped to score a big win in Accra ahead of the second leg.

Speaking from the team’s hotel, Eshun, who recently joined Icelandic side IR Football Club, talked about the importance of qualifying to the 15th edition of the continental championship slated to be held in Morocco next year.

“For the qualification, it means everything to us. We’ve been out for almost five years…since 2018 when we hosted (the competition) in Ghana, I was part of it we were not able to even go beyond the group stage so this qualification means everything to us. It means a lot to us.”
