Black Queens Head Coach Nora Hauptle

Black Queens head coach Nora Hauptle was reduced to tears as her side sealed qualification to the next edition of the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

After missing out on the past edition of the continental championship, Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team, has qualified to compete at the 2024 CAF Women’s AFCON in Morocco.

The Black Queens lost 1-0 to Namibia in South Africa but qualified to next year’s tournament via 3-2 aggregate win. Ghana beat Namibia 3-1 in the first leg in Accra.

After the game, Swiss trainer Hauptle couldn’t hide her emotions after recording the biggest achievement in her managerial career.

The 40 year old was captured sharing hugs with members of her technical staff and players and shook hands with other members of the team.

Losing to Namibia ends the Black Queens winning streak under Hauptle; Ghana had 10 wins in a row prior to losing to the Southern African nation.

Ghana hosted the 2018 edition of the Women’s AFCON but failed to progress from the group stage.
