Black Queens are taking “a step at a time approach”- Oware-Mensah states

A management committee member for Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team (Black Queens), Gifty Oware-Mensah, says the team is taking a steady approach to build its way to the top.

She said this after Ghana secured its spot at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations due to be held in Morocco. Ghana failed to qualify to the continental competition in the last edition.

The Queens are scheduled to play Zambia in a 2024 Paris Olympic Games qualifier in February with the winner due to play either Morocco or Algeria.

Ghana beat Namibia 3-2 in the final eliminator on aggregate to secure its place in next year’s competition but football administrator Oware-Mensah wouldn’t be drawn into AWCON conversations just yet.

“We are not crashing all the games together. We are just taking it a step at a time. We have (the) Zambia (game) to win and we play either Algeria or Morocco”

“Any of them, I think that by the time we play them, we will be ready to win.”
