Ghana Boxing Authority is a sport developer and looks beyond personal interest- Kotei

Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) President Abraham Neequaye Kotei is kicking against the perception of the Authority as a hindrance to the development of boxers and the sport overall.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports in response to a controversial decision over the final result of a fight between Emmanuel Quartey and Jerry Lartey in the IMAX Boxing league. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

President Kotei was on the end of a tirade of curses by Quartey’s aggrieved family but those curses have been reversed and an apology rendered according to the GBA head who went on to talk about the GBA’s interest in developing the sport.

“The GBA is not a business man, the GBA is a sports developer so we don’t want any controversies. What is right, should be right”

GBA President Abraham Kotei

We look beyond personal interest we look at how the sport will grow and that is what the GBA is looking at so I don’t pay much attention with controversies like that.”

In a related development, rising featherweight contender, Cann Kotei (son GBA President Abraham Kotei) is confident of making a mark in the sport.
