CAF CL: Medeama SC receives One Million Ghana Cedis from President Akufo-Addo

President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo, through the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has honoured the one million Ghana Cedis pledge he made to support Medeama SC in the CAF Champions League.

Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, representing the President of Ghana, handed over the funds to George Mireku Duker, the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, in the presence of Medeama SC management.


Medeama, Ghana’s representative has accumulated four points in the ongoing CAF Champions League with a notable win against CR Belouizdad in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the book.

The Tarkwa side has scored a one-all draw against Tanzanian side Young Africans and a 3-0 loss to Al-Ahly so far in the group-stage games.

The Mauve & Yellows made this known to the public via their Facebook account.

The Sports Minister, Hon. Mustapha Ussif, alongside Hon. George Mireku Duker, Mr James Esilfie(Board Member, Administration), and Ebenezer Aidoo(Brands and Marketing Manager) from Medeama SC, marked the occasion in a brief ceremony at the Sports Minister’s office.

Medeama believes the fulfilment made by President Nana Akufo-Addo will go on to boost its chances of securing qualification to the next phase of the competition.

Next up for the Mauve & Yellows is a trip to Dar es Salaam to face Young Africans on December 20 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
