Ghana’s Nathan Mensah grabs eight rebounds in second NBA outing

Ghana center Nathan Mensah made his NBA debut on December 15 and has followed it up with a 29 minute outing for the Charlotte Hornets in a regular season game against Philadelphia Sixers.

Mensah started off the bench and registered eight rebounds, two points and an assist as the Hornets suffered an 82-135 loss to the Sixers at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.

25 year old Mensah grabbed three rebounds on the offensive side of the court with five more rebounds coming on the defensive side.

He converted one of three field goal attempts in the game committing three fouls and a turnover in the contest.

On his NBA debut, Mensah registered seven rebounds and two points in 13 minutes in Hornets 107-112 loss to New Orleans Pelicans.

Mensah comes on the back off his recently announced two-way contract with the Hornets that gives the Accra born 6 foot 9 inch Mensah the chance to earn a roster spot on the Hornets while maintaining a roster spot on the Greensboro Swarm. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

The Swarm is Charlotte’s affiliate team in the NBA Gatorade League; with the Swarm, Mensah is averaging 10.3 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 29.3 minutes across 29 games.

This is Mensah’s first season in the Gatorade League after going undrafted out of San Diego State University.
