We shall fight for the six remaining points after YANGA failure – Medeama Coach

Medeama Head Coach Evans Adotey

Medeama Sporting Club head coach Augustine Evans Adotey says his team’s quest to take three points off Young Africans Sporting Club has failed woefully.

He said this after The Yellow and Mauve side lost 3-0 to YANGA in Tanzania in the last CAF Champions League group stage match before an extensive break due to the 2023 AFCON.

The loss is Medeama’s second at the group stage in four games and places the Tarkwa side bottom of Group D. YANGA and Medeama drew 1-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in the first leg.

Striker Jonathan Sowah had a poor outing as he missed a penalty kick attempt in the 56th minute with Medeama trailing 1-0. He got sent off for a second yellow card offense in the 90th minute.

“The game is over. The ambition of Medeama to take away a point or the three maximum points unfortunately failed. We have two more games…We shall fight for the remaining six points.”
