President Akufo-Addo is a champion of sports development in Ghana- Mustapha Ussif

President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has lauded President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his drive to develop sports in the West African nation.

He said this in his speech delivered at the commissioning of the Koforidua Sports Stadium with the grand ceremony attended by the President of Ghana, Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku and Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng II.

The commissioned facility has a FIFA standard football pitch, a gymnasium, a basketball court, a tennis court, a counseling centre and IT hub.

The Koforidua Stadium is the first of 10 regional stadiums set to be commissioned as Ghana prepares to host the 13th African Games in March, 2024 at the Borteyman Sports Complex that is under construction and the University of Ghana Stadium that is being renovated.

For Honourable Ussif, the construction of these projects shows that President Akufo-Addo is a champion of sports development.

Next year’s African Games run from March 8 to March 23.
