Ghana center Amida Brimah has been traded to Santa Cruz Warriors from fellow NBA Gatorade League (G-League) side Grand Rapids Gold.

The news was confirmed by Santa Cruz (the G-League outfit of NBA side Golden State Warriors) ahead of Santa Cruz’s matchup against South Bay Lakers on January 13.

Rapids Gold traded guard JaQuori McLaughlin and a 2024 second round NBA G-League Draft pick for Brimah. Following the move, Santa Cruz waived Josh Nzeakor.

29 year old Brimah is expected to battle for minutes as the starting center with former Houston Rockets player Usman Garuba at Santa Cruz.

The move takes Brimah from the Eastern Conference leading Rapids Gold to the Western Conference 12th ranked Santa Cruz Warriors.

With Grand Rapids, Brimah averaged 6.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 16.9 minutes across 15 games.
