2023 AFCON: Mohammed Kudus left distraught after late collapse against Mozambique

Black Stars midfielder, Mohammed Kudus was left distraught at the team performance following a late collapse against the Mambas of Mozambique in the final group B game at the Alassane Outtara Stadium in Abidjan on Monday night.

Kudus who shone on the day, emerged as the Man of the Match for the second time in a row but struggled to put words together after the game.

Ghana failed to hold on to a two-goal lead for the second time running at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, this time against the Mambas of Mozambique after conceding two goals in six minutes from a spot kick and corner kick due to a needless touch from Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori.

Ghana will now settle for a point against the Mozambiqans, which might not be enough to qualify them for the round of 16 as one of the third-best-placed teams.

Speaking after the game, the West Ham midfielder struggled to put words together.

I am out of words, i don’t know what to say man.

Thanks to the fans for the support, you know, thank you, thank you.

Thanks everyone for the vote.

It is still mathematically possible for Chris Hughton’s side to qualify for the knockout stages but, with just two points to their name, they need several results in other groups to go their way.

If they do exit the competition, the four-time champions can have few complaints, having not only looked lethargic throughout against the Mambas but in their previous outings as well.
