February 14 demo is targeting political will to change sports not GFA- Saddick Adams

2018 Ghana Journalists Award (Sports Journalism category) winner Saddick Adams has pointed to pushing for political will to change attitude towards sports as the main target the February 14 demonstration seeks to achieve.

He however rubbished the idea that the Save Ghana Football Demonstration is targeting the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The demonstration comes in the wake of Ghana’s poor run at the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire that had Ghana eliminated at the first round without scoring a win.

This is the second AFCON edition in a row that the Black Stars have failed to register a win and suffer elimination from the tournament’s preliminary round prompting the demonstration.

“The GFA isn’t my target. The demonstration is about political will. It’s about the pressure. They (politicians) need the numbers and they see that people are talking about sports.”

“That means if you fix the sport (football), that is the passion of the nation, people will vote. It is the passion of the nation we want to save not GFA” Adams said on Citi TV’s “Football Made in Ghana”.
