GFA has no idea what February 14 conveners demonstrated against- Oduro Sarfo

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council Member, Nana Oduro Sarfo, has downplayed the impact of the SaveGhanaFootball Demonstration that took place on February 14.

He said this in the aftermath of the demonstration fronted by journalists including Veronica Commey, Saddick Adams and Nana Yaw Kessie that attracted thousands of football enthusiasts to vent their frustration over the poor state of Ghana football. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Ghana’s first round elimination from the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire was a major factor that sparked the demonstration.

Missing out on a place in the round of 16 stage for the second AFCON edition in a row represents Ghana’s downward trend in performance in recent years.

“It is their right to demonstrate but sometimes I find it very strange when we don’t follow the laid down procedure.”

GFA Executive Council Member Oduro Sarfo

“As I speak to you, the GFA has no idea what they’ve demonstrated against because…GFA did not get any petition from the demonstrators. So as at now we don’t what they actually demonstrated against” Oduro Sarfo said to Citi Sports.
