GFA should be made accountable to Ghanaians- “SaveGhanaFootball” Demo Convener

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) must be made accountable for its business dealings involving the national football teams particularly the senior national men’s football team, the Black Stars according to SaveGhanaFootball demonstration convener Saddick Adams.

In his address to demonstrators who protested against the poor state of football in Ghana, sports journalist Saddick Adams listed items in the petition he and other conveners handed to members of Ghana’s parliament.

Adams said, “We want the President of Ghana and the parliament to institute an investigation into the 2022 World Cup. We want accountability. The GFA is holding the national teams on behalf of us, when they get sponsorship, they must make sure not only 127 people (Ghana football delegates), every Ghanaian should know what they get.”

He further called on government to push for the dissolution of management committees for the national football teams saying,

“Parliament, we want you to dissolve all the management committees. We want the government to be sure that the people there are interested in Ghana football. You can’t bring your friends to come and take $100,000 and travel free.”

The petition was accepted a group of parliamentarians including Major Chief Whip Frank Annor Dompreh and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
