A communications team member of SC Medeama, Nana Effah Asare, confirms that all bonuses and salaries have been paid to their players ahead of their crucial encounter in the CAF champions League against Al AHLY at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday.

SC Medeama have 4 points and must win at the Baba Yara Sports stadium to advance to the play offs of the CAF Champions League.

The Ghana Premier League Champions have a win, 2 losses and a draw and lie at bottom in group D.

Ahead of the match on Friday, a member of Madama’s communications team, Nana Effah Asare, has told Citi Sports that the club has put everything in place for the players to succeed. He stressed on the fact that there were no outstanding monetary commitments to the players and that was to ensure they would not have any concerns before the crucial match.

“The biggest morale is to exhibit your talent at this stage .Everybody is watching you play against Ahly, Belouizdad on this continent in a top flight competition so that’s the morale booster.”

“Financially I will say we are a bit stronger than previously and you know what Medeama can do. We called the players and we sat them down and talked to them. Honestly we don’t want to make any pronouncement on winning bonuses but we have had a very lengthy discussion with them and they know what is at stake.

“Because advancing from this stage to another stage alone is a whole lot. It is more than even getting millions of cedis so they know what is at stake and they are also exhibiting their talent. As I told you earlier on, we are very optimistic that by hook or crook, we need to advance to the next stage of the competition.

“We’ve paid all bonuses and we don’t owe any player as of now. We have paid monthly salaries, bonuses, everything.”

Meanwhile Al Ahly have posted on their X account they will want CAF to move their game from Friday to Saturday.
