Hearts Board dissolution not tied to demonstration – Kwame Opare Addo

Accra Hearts of Oak have clarified that the recent dissolution of their board has no relation with the protest staged by some angry fans of the club who stormed the club’s headquarters to express their displeasure with management.

They were seeking to have the board dissolved over non performance.

The club has moved to clear the air following fans expressing their unhappiness with their current direction with regards to performances on the pitch and also the technical recruiting process.

Accra Hearts of Oak took the decision to dissolve an eleven member board including Togbe Afede XIV, Frank Nelson, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamaloe, Prof. Kofi Kumado, Ivy Heyward-Mills, Alhaji Alhassan Andani, Thomas Kwesi Esso, Eric Barimah-Atuahene, Alhaji Imoro Briamah, Vincent Sowah Odotei, and Frederick Moore on 27th February 2024.

In an exclusive interview with Citi sports, the Communication Director of the club Kwame Opare Addo, stated that the board dissolution is in line with the club’s new strategy.

“This has got nothing to do with the public outcry. The reality is that after serving for a period of 12 years, the club feel they have done well. Hence this is in line with the promise by the clubs majority shareholder”

Accra Hearts of Oak are scheduled to have an annual general meeting to look at plans that will help revive the club.
