13TH AFRICAN GAMES: Happy to have an aquatic centre like this in Ghana- Abeiku Jackson

Ghanaian swimmer Abeiku Jackson is happy Ghana is hosting the African Games for the first time and has top facilities like the Borteyman Sports Complex’s Aquatic Centre.

The aquatic centre at the newly built Borteyman Complex is hosting the swimming competition at the 12th African Games taking place in Ghana such as cycling and athletics.

The multi-sport competition runs from March 8 to March 23 with African athletes competing in various disciplines including those that serve as qualifiers to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

In an interview after winning Ghana’s first gold medal in swimming, Jackson said he is happy such a facility has been provided for the present and future generation. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“It’s a standard Olympic pool. It’s a great pool, I’m happy to have a pool like this in Ghana not only for me but also for the kids that are upcoming for them to also practice and train day in day out, getting the advantages of equipment which will achieve greater dreams for them in the next African Games or the next Olympic Games.”
