Pavel Kutashev, head coach of Ghanaian swimmer Abeiku Jackson, says the swimming sensation can still do better despite winning Ghana’s first medal at the 13TH African Games.

He said this after seeing Jackson finish second to win the silver medal in the Men’s 50 Metre Free style event at the Borteyman Sports Complex’s Aquatic Centre.

The medal win was registered on Day 2 of competition after Ghana narrowly missed out on a podium finish on the opening day.

Speaking in a press interview after the win, Kutashev talked about Jackson’s ability to win more medals for Ghana in the pool.

“I am working with the team and I believe in them and they are working hard so this is just a reward for the good work that we have done.”

“I am happy for the silver medal…me and Abeiku we know that we can do better with the results but the medal is also good for us.”
