West Ham United manager David Moyes says Ghanaian international, Mohammed Kudus’ goal against SC Freiburg reminds him of Celtic FC great Jimmy Johnstone.

Moyes stated this description in his post game interview after seeing his side demolish Freiburg 5-0 to clinch a spot in the quarterfinals via a 5-1 aggregate win.

Kudus scored twice in the win in the 77th and 85th minutes respectively to cement the win after fellow midfielders Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen’s goals earlier in the contest.

The Black Stars player dribbled past three Freiburg players before slotting the ball into the net with his weaker right foot for the first of his brace on the special night.

For Moyes, Kudus’ goal was reminiscent of Johnstone, “Fans of a slightly older generation might remember a player called Jimmy Johnstone, who was an unbelievable player for Celtic. Mo reminded me of him when he was snaking through their defence.”

“It was brilliant, and then he slotted in another to make it five, so I’m really pleased for him. He put in a great performance.”
