Head coach of Ghana’s National Men’s Under 20 Football Team, the Black Satellites, Desmond Ofei isn’t happy about the state of the University of Ghana Stadium’s football pitch.

He sounded his concerns in his post game presser after Ghana clinched a 1-0 win over Benin in its final game in Group A of the 13th African Games being held in Ghana.

A Jerry Afriyie strike inside the penalty box that went through the legs of the Benin goalkeeper was the difference as Ghana sealed its place in the semifinals of the competition.

After briefly touching on the situation of the pitch, the Black Satellites head coach further highlighted the challenges his team encountered playing on the University of Ghana surface. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“It was quite difficult to find our rhythm…the pitch didn’t help because the pitch was small in our opinion and playing against a team that’s very aggressive, it makes it very difficult to play football especially when they are man marking us in the midfield but we grew into the game and the chance that we got we buried.”
