Accra 2023: We had to do it the hard way- Black Satellites Coach on win over Benin

Head coach of Ghana’s National Men’s Under 20 Team-the Black Satellites-Desmond Offei, believes his team’s 1-0 win over Benin was far from easy and was done the hard way.

He said this in his post game presser after Ghana recorded its second win in the 13th African Games to book a spot in the semifinals after recording seven points.

Jerry Afriyie’s goal in the 34th minute proved to be the match winner as the Black Satellites played for the first time in the competition at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.

Despite the win, coach Ofei recognized the difficulty his team went through before beating Benin, saying,

“I think we’ve done enough. It was a very difficult game, difficult pitch, difficult circumstances but we had to do it the hard way and basically we did so we are very happy and we are not there yet. I think the competition is about to start.”
