Ghanaian musician Kofi Kinaata has called for facilities hosting competitions in the 13th African Games to be well maintained.

He said this in an exclusive chat with Citi Sports after watching Ghana’s 4×100 Relay Teams progress to the finals in the Men’s and Women’s Division respectively.

The relay event was held at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon concluding a day of athletics that had Ghana’s Rose Yeboah successfully defend her high jump gold medal.

Speaking in his native Fante language, the multiple award winning musician praised the efforts of the relay teams and made the call for facilities hosting the Games to be maintained once the competition ends on March 23.

“It’s (the UG Stadium) very nice. We are hoping that the maintenance is done. The girls did well, the boys did well too I had fun.”

“People should come and watch because this sort of event doesn’t happen often (in Ghana). I had fun coming here” he said before darting off to watch Ghana play Senegal in the semifinals of the football competition.”

Ghana’s Black Satellites beat Senegal 1-0 to book a spot in the final.
