Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is aiming for a good start from his lads to end up as the winning team in a matchup against Nigeria.

He said this in an interview ahead of Ghana’s international friendly game against Nigeria on Friday, March 22 in Morocco.

Ghana go into the game on the back of a poor 2023 AFCON campaign that had the Black Stars eliminated at the group stage without securing a win.

On the other hand, Nigeria had a fine tournament that ended in a silver medal after losing 2-1 to Cote D’Ivoire in the final.

Addo, who will be in charge of the Black Stars for the first time since getting a permanent appointment as head coach, praised Nigeria’s quality but noted that a strong start could get his side a win over the arch rival.

“It’s going to be tough for sure but surely we can and we know how to play against such a hold and even though they went to the (AFCON) final, they showed also during some matches that they are vulnerable so anything can happen…I just hope that we get a good start and we can end this game as the winning team.”
