Accra2023: We used Ghana’s Football DNA to win Gold at African Games- Desmond Ofei

Ghana Under 20 Men's Football Team won gold at the 13th African Games

Black Satellites head coach, Desmond Ofei, says applying elements in Ghana’s Football DNA got the National Men’s Under 20 Football Team win gold at the 13th African Games.

Ghana hosted the African Games for the first time and ended up winning gold in the competition’s Men’s and Women’s Football event.

Just like the Black Princesses, the Black Satellites scored the winner late in the game with Jerry Afriyie smashing the ball into the net in the 90th minute. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Addressing the media after the win, Ofei praised his lads for winning gold and pointed to the key component in the team’s successful run.

“Top top talented boys, hardworking players and they were hungry to show the nation what they were about. We had to select the best possible players to represent the nation and that’s what we did. We had to guide them and work really hard and we had a vision together with the DNA of national team and that’s what we used for this group.”
