We are yet to receive our allowances – African Games Volunteer

One of the volunteers involved in the recently concluded 13th African Games has anonymously revealed to Citi News that they are yet to receive the allowances promised by the Local Organizing Committee and the leadership of the Volunteer sub-committee.

This disclosure comes in the wake of a statement released by the Local Organizing Committee, assuring volunteers of the full payment of GH₵1,200 allocated as incentives.

The statement emphasized the need for volunteers to provide the necessary proof to claim their owed benefits, as outlined by the Committee’s Chairman, Dr Kwaku Ofosu-Asare.

Speaking to Citi News on condition of anonymity, the volunteer explained that despite providing all required details, the promised allowances of GHC1,000 and an additional transport of GHC200.00 are yet to be reflected in their respective accounts.

My explanation is that over the weekend, they reached out to usto provide the names and mobile money numbers so that they do the payment into the account, which we have submitted to them.
But as of this morning, no payment has been made yet, so we are still expecting the payment to be deposited into our respective mobile money account.
Yes, it is the same, story.
No payment has been made yet, and I’m emphasizing on yet, because we submitted the details all right, but we are yet to receive payment.
Nobody has received the payment yet, but they promise that they are going to make the payment.
They actually didn’t give any timelines, as in between this time and this time, they are going to make the payment.
What they did tell us was that they reached out for our mobile money numbers, and they said they were going to deposit it into the account.
