Accra2023: Wasn’t surprised Winnifred Ntumi won three medals- Ernest Danso

Winnifred Ntumi won three medals in weightlifting at 13th African Games

Chef De Mission of the 13th African Games, Ernest Danso, says he always believed weightlifter Winnifred Ntumi would excel at the competition largely due to her supreme confidence.

21 year old Ntumi won gold and silver medals at the 2023 African Games that was held in Ghana and had the host nation win a record 69 medals in total with Ntumi winning Ghana’s first at the competition.

Speaking exclusively on Citi TV’s Football Made in Ghana, Ernest Danso pointed to top level confidence as Ntumi’s trump card to success.

“I am not surprised (about her wins). She is so confident, she is very confident. Among all the athletes, she is one of the people who is very confident. When you have that, you will be okay to do anything. When you are confident. There was some part (of her) that she believed from the beginning that she could do it.”
