WAFU ZONE-B CUP OF NATIONS: Black Starlets not feeling pressure to qualify for AFCON – Henry Asante Twum

The Communications Director of the Ghana Football AssociationHenry Asante Twum has underlined that the Black Starlets are not succumbing to the pressure of qualifying for the Total Energies U-17 Afcon.

The team finds itself in Group A alongside Coté d’Ivoire and Benin for the WAFU Zone B U17 championship scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium from May 15 to 28, 2024.

In an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Henry Asante Twum expressed confidence that Ghana can rise to the occasion, match the host, and thrive under pressure to secure victory.

Pressure is an everyday thing, whether you are the host or you are playing elsewhere there’s always pressure.

We are a powerful football house, our history says it all.

The pressure will be immune to our advantage because we will have the 12 men behind us.

The fans will throng to the Accra sports stadium as they did during the African games, and I’m hoping the fans will cheer the team to victory.

The Black Starlets, are currently in Russia for the four-nation tournament, aiming to hone their skills and prove themselves before the start of the tournament.

The tournament will see them face off against teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Serbia, which promises to be an exciting challenge for the young Ghanaian players.
