2012 AFCON winner, Rainford Kalaba, has been discharged from hospital after recovering from serious injuries picked up in a car accident a fortnight ago.

Kalaba was involved in a serious car head on collision in his car with a heavy truck that initially had medical service personnel pronounce him dead only to confirm later that he had been placed in artificial coma. (Click highlighted text to read story)

According to Zambian journalist, Kennedy Gondwe, Kalaba, who was one of the star performers on the legendary Zambian team that shocked the world to win the AFCON in Gabon, has been discharged from the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Zambia.

Public Relations Officer of UT, Nzeba Chanda, communicated this about the winger who spent 12 years at DR Congo side TP Mazembe.

This marks further improvement in the health of the TP Mazembe legend who was reportedly conscious and able to eat and talk as of April 18 and strong enough to take a photograph earlier this week.
