Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club striker, Steven Mukwala, has associated Kotoko’s mini resurgence to the club’s meeting with the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Kotoko were arranged before the Asantehene at the Manhyia Palace at a time the Porcupine Warriors were enduring a rotten run of form.

The Porcupine Warriors had lost six of seven Ghana Premier League games before meeting Otumfuo Osei Tutu II who challenged the team to do better. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Kotoko have since gone on a three game unbeaten streak recording two wins and a draw; the team is coming off a 2-0 win over Legon Cities.

Speaking in an interview with Kotoko media, Ugandan striker Mukwala says the meeting has proved fruitful and coincided with his return to goal scoring form with two goals in his last two games.

“Basically, the communication, the motivation from the King, the words of wisdom, just the way that reminded us as players, fans, the technical team how big Kotoko is. I think probably that is the motivation we have right now.”
