Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic will be eligible to sign a 5-year, $346 million super-max extension next year in the 2025 offseason. ESPN’s Bobby Marks reports that this would mark the richest contract in NBA history.

He will meet the super-max criteria upon being named All-NBA this offseason.

However, due to the seven-year service requirement in the NBA, the Slovenian cannot sign the extension until 2025, as he is currently in his sixth season.

Doncic is on track to become the first player in NBA history to reach the $70 million mark in salary. He currently makes over $40 million per year.

The 25-year-old is playing the best basketball of his career, as he is averaging a league-leading and career-high 34.0 points, 9.1 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.5 steals. Doncic is shooting at 48.9 percent from the field, 38.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 78.2 percent from the free-throw line.
