Los Angeles Galaxy head coach, Greg Vanney, has stated that Black Stars winger Joseph Paintsil is ready to make his return to action from injury.

He said this in his pre game press conference ahead of the Galaxy’s game against Sporting Kansas on Saturday, June 15.

Paintsil has missed games over the past three weeks due to a muscle injury that had him miss out on a call up to the Black Stars for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic.

However, according to Galaxy head coach Vanney, Paintsil has been involved in team activities this week and is ready to go.

“Joe’s been fully involved this whole week and he was in partial training session stuff last week so he’s ready to join the team and be ready to go.”

Since joining LA Galaxy from Belgian side KRC Genk earlier this year, Paintsil has made a brilliant start in the Major League Soccer (MLS) with four goals and four assists in 13 league games. His fantastic start landed him on the league’s Most Valuable Player radar in April.
