Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club midfielder, Richmond Lamptey, is expected to earn a monthly salary of $10,000 with his new team Armee Police Rwanda.

Lamptey who joined the Rwandan side on a two year deal recently, is set to be one of the highest earners at the club that has ambitions of making a deep run in the CAF Champions League next season after winning the Rwandan Football League.

The former Inter Allies player battled injuries in the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season making 17 appearances and registering five assists for Kotoko.

The Porcupine Warriors finished sixth in the 18 team league standings in what is generally considered a disappointing campaign from the Kumasi side.

Lamptey’s departure is part of a mass exit of players from Kotoko after the season; as many as 21 players have been moved from the club including big names like Danlad Ibrahim, Eric Serge Zeze and Georges Mfegue. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
