Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew scored his third goal of the 2024-2025 English Premier League season as Leicester City missed out on a win.
The Foxes lost 2-1 to Chelsea at the King Power Stadium with Jordan Ayew’s converted penalty in the 95th minute coming after Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez scored for Chelsea.
Ayew climbed off the bench in the 71st minute as a replacement for Wilfred Ndidi and had an interception while completing six of seven past attempts in 19 minutes.
The veteran forward went into the game with an injury picked up during the international break while competing for the Black Stars.
He scored a brilliant free kick as Ghana drew 1-1 with Angola in Luanda that effectively ended Ghana’s chances of qualifying to compete at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
Since joining Leicester from fellow EPL side Crystal Palace this season, Jordan Ayew has scored three goals in 12 league outings.
Fellow Ghanaian international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku missed the first of what is expected to be a long list of games after suffering an ACL injury while competing for Ghana.
