The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council is set to meet on Wednesday, November 20 in the wake of Ghana’s failure to qualify to the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
Members of Ghana football’s most powerful body are scheduled to meet and discuss the next steps for Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team after the tragic turn of events that have had the four time African champions fail to qualify to the continental championship for the first time in 20 years.
GFA President Kurt Okraku, GFA Vice President Mark Addo, veteran football administrators Frederick Acheampong and Dr. Randy Abbey are among members of the powerful body expected to be present at the meeting.
Kurt Okraku issued a statement where the GFA President sounded remorseful over Ghana’s inability to qualify to compete in Morocco next year. (Click highlighted text to read full story).
The upcoming event reportedly has the decision on the future of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo high on the itinerary.
Under Addo, Ghana had arguably the worst AFCON qualification campaign having played six games without registering a win.
Addo returned to the Black Stars head coach role on a permanent basis after leading Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in a temporal role.
