Following Nurudeen Amadu’s departure, FC Samartex Business Development Manager, Paul Anyaba, has expressed confidence in the club’s backroom staff’s ability to guide the team during its transitional phase.
“Henry Wellington remains the assistant coach, and we have Nassam Aboubakar, a former player, captain, and coach of the club at the lower tiers he’s around, Ernest Commey, a licensed B coach and goalkeeping trainer, is also available. They will take charge of the team for now,” he said,” Anyaba said.
On appointing a new head coach, Anyaba reassured fans that the process is already in motion.“For club licensing purposes, we are required to replace the head coach within a month. However, from the discussions we’ve had with the board, I can confirm that the replacement will be made as soon as possible. In fact, by next week, possibly after Sunday ,we will announce the new head coach,” he revealed.
Amadu leaves Samartex after winning the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League title in the Samreboi based club’s second season competing in the Ghanaian top flight.
After an indifferent start to the 2024-2025 season, Samartex rank 10th in the 18 team league standings with four wins, five draws and four losses.
