Mikel Arteta has affirmed his side is still in the title race after their win against rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The Gunners’ 2-1 win moved them within 4 points of leaders Liverpool albeit with a game more played.
The Arsenal head coach was not allowing the win to get to his head stating their focus was solely on Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.
Speaking after the game Arteta said there was no momentum gained from the game.
“The result give us the chance to enjoy the moment instead of momentum, because momentum starts tomorrow to prepare Aston Villa. Three days later, that’s all the momentum that we have is still tomorrow morning when we see our faces and we start to talk about how we’re going to beat Villa.”
He however affirmed that his side were still in contention and that it was not going to be an easy time for any team.
“We are still in it because it’s so much to play for and we can see how difficult it is for every team to win.”
Arsenal are unbeaten in the Premier League since November 2nd and look to get their 3rd straight win over Aston Villa when the sides clash on Saturday.
