With an impressive 18-year coaching career that spans China, Sweden, and the United States, he is expected to inject fresh ideas and tactical discipline into the Black Queens.

“The confidence with which he comes into the job is important, It sets the foundation for success and will be key in motivating the team to perform at their best. and obviously, interacting with him ,he’s a travelled man who knows the job and for me, when you get the right technical person ,getting the tools to tag along becomes much more easier. “
Björkegren is currently in Morocco with the Black Queens for a 10-day training tour, where the team will play an international friendly against Morocco’s national team and a club side in Casablanca.
The tour serves as an opportunity to assess the squad and fine-tune tactics ahead of upcoming competitions.
Following the tour, his attention will turn to preparing the team for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to take place in July 2025.

Ghana’s women’s football team is aiming to re-establish itself among Africa’s elite, and with Björkegren’s expertise and leadership, expectations are high for a resurgence on the continental stage.
