Ghana basketball player Janelle Gyampoh has reflected on competing for Ghana at the 2023 FIBA Under 16 Zonal Championship and described the experience as an interesting. (Scroll down to watch video)
She made this comment in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports ahead of her impending move to the United States of America to play on the Trinity College-Connecticut Women’s Basketball Team.
Gyampoh competed in the youth basketball championship that was held in Ghana from June 22 to June 24, 2023 that had Ghana competing against the likes of Nigeria but missed out on progressing to the continental championship.
“It was a pretty interesting experience. At that time, I was still quite young so I wasn’t as big as I am and I was being pushed around by the older girls especially the Nigerians who were really strong but it was a great experience especially at that age.”
“I got to…see how hard I had to work. I liked the experience of kind of playing professionally and being able to represent my country” she said.
