Substitute William Opoku scored a brilliant second half hat trick to lead Karela United to a famous 3-1 win over Hearts of Oak in Anyinase.

The victory takes Karela level on points with league leaders AshGold who were held at Sogakope against WAFA. Umar Basiru put the Academy Boys ahead before Richard Djodi equalized for the Obuasi based side.

WAFA have now gone five games without a win.

Inter Allies were 1-0 winners over Techiman Eleven Wonders courtesy Abdul Hamzah’s strike.

Wa All Stars’s struggles continued as they were beaten 2-1 by Bechem United in Bechem. They win for Bechem United moves them further away from the relegation zone, after their early season struggles.

Yaw Acheampong’s Elmina Sharks were held to a goalless draw by Medeama Sporting Club.

Frederick Boateng scored his second goal in as many games for Kotoko as the Porcupine Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw against Berekum Chelsea.

In the final game of match week 8, Sharani Zuberu scored his 4th goal of the season as Dreams FC beat Liberty by a 1-0 at the Sogakope Stadium.

The victory is Dreams’ second in as many games, while Liberty have dropped back into the relegation zone. Sharani has now scored 4 out of Dreams’ six goals this season.
