Black Stars technical coordinator Stephen Appiah has endorsed the star potential of Levante striker Emmanuel Boateng.

The young striker made global headlines when he scored a hat-trick in Levante’s 5 -4 win over Barcelona that essentially ended the Catalans dream of becoming the first side to complete an entire La Liga season unbeaten.

Prior to his hat-trick against Barca,no other player had managed even a brace in the league against the Champions in the 2017/2018 season.

He also became the first player since Diego Forlan in 2005 to achieve the milestone.

That performance against Barcelona was not his only giant killing feat of the season as he scored also against Real Madrid earlier in the campaign.

He has since been invited to the senior national team, the Black Stars for the first time and is expected to feature in the international friendlies against Iceland and Japan.

The former Black Stars skipper believes that Boateng has the right temperament to succeed in the sport.

I have watched some of his matches and indeed he is a very good player.

He showed it when they played against Barcelona.

You won’t find all youngsters showing such confidence and character against Barcelona.

Now he has the chance to play for the national team and I wish him all the best,” Appiah told Ghanaweb.
