GOC President attends 10th Interpol Match-Fixing Task Force Meeting

The President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Ben Nunoo-Mensah is attending the 10th Interpol Match-Fixing Task Force Meeting in Lyon, France.
 
The GOC boss is among high profile global figures who are attending the two-day summit on September 11-12, 2018.
 
Among key stakeholders attending the event are the Federation International de Football (FIFA), Global Lottery Monitoring System (GLMS), International Olympic Committee and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
 
The aim of the meeting is to bring together law enforcement agencies around the world to tackle match-fixing/sports corruption to maintain integrity in sports.
 
The Ghana Olympic Committee chief is leading a crusade to rebrand the association and position it as a true international trademark.
 
Since assuming office, the GOC boss has demonstrated tenacity and integrity in his administration and has embarked on a path of leaving a lasting legacy for generations unborn.
 
The 10th Interpol meeting seeks to educate and train key actors in sport on how to recognize, resist and report attempts to corrupt or fix matches;
 
It also seeks to prepare law enforcement on how to investigate and cooperate in cases related to corruption or match-fixing;
 
Again, the Interpol Match-fixing meeting trains’ sports fact finders on how to initiate and carry out an internal inquiry into suspected manipulation of competitions.
 
The GOC boss is expected back in Ghana on Thursday September  13, 2018.
