Ghana’s Christian Amoah picked up three gold medals in the ongoing African Junior weightlifting championships in Kampala, Uganda.
Amoah impressed in his events and managed to hold off competition from the other competitors to win the ultimate prizes in the events.
The competition was put together by the Weightlifting Federation of Africa and the world body and it would serve as qualifiers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan.
The gold medals won by Amoah will be seen as a huge improvement on the three bronze medal he won in the 2019 African Games in Morocco a few weeks ago.
In total, Amoah and his weightlifting team mates have Ghana 8 medals in all in Morocco.
