CAFCL: Asante Kotoko off to Mauritania for Nouadhibou clash

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have departed for Mauritania ahead of their clash with FC Nouadhibou in the CAF Champions League preliminary stage on Sunday, November 29, 2020.

Head coach Maxwell Konadu named a 21 man squad for the game with the Mauritanian league champions.

In the absence of Felix Annan, goalkeeper Danlard Ibrahim joins Kwame Baah and new signing Razak Abalora for the trip.

The defenders to make the trip include Andrews Appau, Christopher Nettey, Samuel Frimpong, Ibrahim Imoro, Patrick Asmah, Abdul Ismail Ganiyu, Yusif Mubarik, and Wahab Adams.

Konadu also named Kwame Adom Frimpong, Emmanuel Sarkodie, Emmanuel Keyeke, Muniru Sulley, Emmanuel Gyamfi as well as Godfred Asiamah as the midfielders for the trip.

Coach Maxwell Konadu also selected the following strikers ahead of the clash; Kwame Opoku, Ibrahim Osman, Evans Adomako, and William Opoku Mensah.

Captain of the club, Felix Annan, Habib Mohammed, and Augustine Okrah have been left out due to injuries.

The team is expected to hold their first training session tomorrow as part of preparations for the clash.

The first-leg of the tie is scheduled to kick off on Sunday, 29th November 2020.
