Algerian side, ES Setif came back from a goal at the Accra Sports Stadium to beat Kumasi Asante Kotoko 2-1 in the first leg of the final round of qualifiers in CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors started the game sluggishly but recovered from their slumber and dominated the first half of the encounter.

Despite their dominance, the first 45 minutes ended 0-0 with both sides very much in contention for the win.

As the game went ahead, it was Kotoko’s talismanic striker, Kwame Opoku who gave the Porcupine Warriors a glimmer of hope of qualifying to the group stages.

He picked up a carefully laid pass by Emmanuel Sarkodie and slotted home from close range to beat Khedaira Sofiane.

The tie turned on its head after the introduction of Mohamed El Amine Amoura, the 20-year-old wonderkid.

The young lad picked up some space in the Kotoko 18-yard and headed home the equalizer.

El Amine Amoura was again the centre of attraction. Beating two Kotoko defenders before laying it off to his colleague who then provided an assist to Kenduci Mohamed who smashed home from close range.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will have to overturn this deficit when they play Setif in Algeria on February 21, 2021.
