Goals from Mfegue Omgba and Richmond Lamptey ensured Kumasi Asante Kotoko defeated Aduana Stars for the first time in Dormaa in the history of the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors knew a good start would help their chances of claiming all three points and they got going with Cameroonian forward, Mfegue Omgba opening breaking the deadlock on the 19th-minute.

Kotoko ended the first half with a goal advantage despite Aduana Stars’ threats on some occasions of the game.

The second half had the Ogya Boys pushing to score but they could not break a resolute Asante Kotoko side.

With the game heading towards a 1-0 win for Kotoko, Richmond Lamptey grabbed his third goal of the season to ensure all three points for the Porcupine Warriors.

The win takes Asante Kotoko top of the Ghana Premier League table with a game in hand against Accra Hearts of Oak.

Aduana Stars still stay third on the league log despite the defeat.
