Abdul-Aziz Yakubu scores again in Rio Ave’s 1-0 win over Estrela

Ghanaian attacker, Abdul-Aziz Yakubu scored the only goal of the game as Rio Ave defeated Estrela 1-0 on Monday night.

Rio Ave FC started well in the game, despite the good defensive organization of Estrela.

In the 34th minute, a good play involving the green and white attack ended with Pedro Mendes being taken down, with the 23-year-old Ghanaian converting from the spot.

The goal was his eighth of the season as Rio Ave inched closer to the top four in the Portuguese Liga 2.

Yakubu has scored 12 goals in total this season in 26 games.

Rio Ave are fifth on the league table and will play Feirense away on Sunday, 20^th February 2022.
