Ghanaian striker Felix Afena-Gyan has scored his first goal for US Cremonese after a long wait since joining the team from AS Roma.

The 19 year old striker bagged his debut goal for Cremonese in the Coppa Italia as Cremonese bagged a 4-2 win over lower division side Modena earlier today.

Cremonese secured progression to the next round after extra time as the game ended 2-2 at the end of regulation time.

Afena-Gyan scored Cremonese’s second goal in the 84th minute to establish a 2-0 lead but Modena equalized late in the game through Davide Diaw who came off the bench to score in the 89th and 90th minutes respectively.

However, Cremonese recovered in extra time to get goals from Leonardo Sernicola in the 111th and 120th minutes respectively.

Both goals were assisted by Santiago Ascacibar. Prior to the game, Afena-Gyan had made four league appearances for Cremonese.

He played in the first half in Ghana’s 0-3 loss to Brazil in an international friendly game in September as the Black Stars prepare to compete at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
