Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has chided the media in the aftermath of Ghana’s 2-3 loss to Portugal at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

He delivered a brutal take on the Ghanaian media’s reaction after Ghana’s loss to the 2016 European champions in controversial circumstances.

“When you do something and it works, you’re a genius. I know that when lose, I’ll be dead and this is always the same with the media…with all due respect but some never did the job. In the job as a coach, you have to really be into it to understand some things” he stated in a pregame presser.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the game’s opening goal in the 65th minute from the penalty spot after Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu was harshly judged to have fouled the Portuguese captain early on in the second half.

Ghana captain Andre Ayew grabbed the equalizer off an assist from Mohammed Kudus in the 73rd minute but both players were yanked off the pitch in the 77th minute.

The Black Stars conceded two quick goals from Joao Felix and Rafael Leao before Osman Bukari grabbed a consolation goal for Ghana.

Many deemed the substitutions by Otto Addo cost Ghana at least a point against Portugal; Ghana plays South Korea next on Monday, November 28 at 13:00 GMT.  (Click highlighted text to read story)

The Koreans drew goalless with Uruguay in the first round of games.
