Maritzburg United will face Kaizer Chiefs in the Round of 32 stage in the 2022-2023 NedBank Cup competition after a draw confirmed the pairing.

The draw means recently signed Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah is in line for a role in the contest after penning a six month loan deal with Maritzburg.

The upcoming round of games is yet to be assigned kickoff dates, times and venues at the time of writing.

Peprah joined Maritzburg after struggling to get playing time with the Soweto based club in his second season with the team.

Maritzburg ranks bottom in the DSTV Premiership standings with just three wins in 15 league games and scoring just eight times in 15 outings prompting the acquisition of Peprah.

Fellow Ghanaian players competing in South Africa had their teams paired in the draw. Edwin Gyimah’s Sekhukune United takes on Liver Brothers FC.
